the children will play.

My parents are away in Las Vegas until Tuesday, so I got the house to myself. And Heather does too.

Happy Halloween everyone! I hope you guys enjoy yourselves today, and BE SAFE!

Ive already gotten myself into some Mischief Night shenanigans (nothing serious, I promise you

).
Once more, Ive had myself a busy couple of weeks.
I saw
Paranormal Activity again last weekend (still creeps me out to no end) and I saw
Where The Wild Things Are by myself on Thursday. What an adorable movie!! Id definitely see it again; I love big, hairy monsters.

Theres a few movies I plan on seeing this season too:
The 4th Kind: Im seeing that next Friday after work with it comes out. Two words: COREY JOHNSON.

The Princess and the Frog: GO DISNEY 2D ANIMATION!

Precious: I heard this is supposed to be extremely good and that its already got great reviews.

Sherlock Holmes: Because it looks cool and I think Heather wants me to see it with her. And because Robert Downey Jr. is an awesome actor.

I carved a pumpkin with Heather on Wednesday; he looks pretty badass.

I impressed myself because this was my first time carving a pumpkin, and I didnt royally screw it up.
THE BEST NEWS OF ALL: I booked myself a trip to Gettysburg on Dec. 4th! I cant wait to go!!

Im dying to go back there so badly.
I spent a lot of money again too. >.< Last night alone, I spent about $150 between books, movies, Halloween candy and dinner at Chilis. @3@;; Doesnt seem like a lot, but from my standpoint, it is.

I got paid on Thursday, so I guess I was itching to go blow it on something.

Figure in the 2 movies I saw; lunch I had with Mom that I paid for; $125 I had to fork over to my psychiatrist b/c my insurance with her terminated (she doesn't take the new insurance

) ; and gas for my car; yeah, too much money. I'm really loathing gas prices right now too.

I must be more frugal with my money!
Last night I was out with my friends Maria and Michelle, and I brought them back for a little while (try until 12:40am this morning

). Heather and I wont really be here to give out candy to trick-or-treaters, so I bought $25 worth of candy and the 4 of us stuffed it in bags so we could leave them on the front porch before we go.

I wanted to ream myself a new one for spending that much on candy that was SUPPOSED to be on sale

It was freakin 10pm at night when I bought it and 5 minutes until store closing though, so I didnt really have much time to do a thorough selection.
Now for the non-life-threatening shenanigans!

The candy taken care of, Heather suggested we fool around with the Ouija Board she has. Seems like a good idea to do on Mischief Night, right?

(-sarcasm-) Dont laugh at me, but I believe in shit like Ouija Boards (you can probably tell that from reading my last journal

), so I was feeling more than creeped out when Heather suggested we play it in MY room. Apparently we had a lot of spirits coming and going in my room for some strange reason. The only explanation I can give for that is because my room is a hub for all things supernatural (I have a mini library of occult/paranormal books and various trinkets of superstition scattered all over my room).
The night ended on a rather aggravated tone though. Maria and Michelle left around 12:30ish to go home and I saw them out the door like a polite person would.

Well, when they got to Michelles car, they noticed that someone had egged it. We spent a good 10 minutes trying to buff the stuff off her car, which is brand new (Michelle assumes thats what it was egged). We think we got it all off, but obviously we cant see that well in the dark to get it all off, so hopefully Michelle will give me an update on the condition of her car (egg is very hard to get off unfortunately >.< ).

Heather also pointed out that I should keep our two outdoor cats, Tinker and Taz, inside (weve heard too many horror stories about what happens to animals on Mischief and Halloween night), so I was chasing Taz all over the yard at 12:40am in my pajamas to get him back in the house.

I was exhausted, so as soon as I got in bed, I was out.
Well, like I said, have a safe Halloween and enjoy yourselves. Ill be out with my younger cousins today (and unfortunately I have no costume to wear; oh well). Should be nice, considering its about 70° out right now.

Happy Halloween!

Dont forget to turn your clocks back tonight. Daylight savings time starts at 2am Nov. 1st!

Wish my parents good luck for a safe return on Tuesday too.

I heard they already won a couple hundred dollars out there.

Love you Mom and Dad!

Now the gears they will fail to turn
As the lights go out
And the sun will be all that burns on our way down
(On our way down)
But right now we have to understand the problem
And overcome! - The Antidote, Story Of The Year

So be brave when all else fails to succeed.
When the lights go out and the battle is not done,
Take a deep breath, be strong, and take heed,
For a brave hero lies in everyone.
